nail care:vitamins

Hello, girls! Today's lesson is about vitamins, what type you should take and why.

Vitamin C, vitamin E, and beta carotene are the "three musketeers" that continuously come to the aid of beauty by battling and quenching free radicals before they can harm precious and vulnerable skin. Fat-soluble beta carotene, for example, migrates to the skin, where it offers not only protection from free radicals from within, but from without, as well. It enables the skin to increase its exposure time to the sun before burning. But for some people with very sensitive skin can case sun burn. Likewise, vitamin E helps prevent free radicals generated by UV rays in the skin from doing their damage(Cuticle softener:rub the vitamin E oil on the cuticles of both feet and hands after bath or shower daily and at bedtime). Vitamin C, in turn, recharges vitamins E and carotene, and also prevents skin damage due to UV-generated free radicals. Vitamin C supports hair and nail growth by improving circulation. Useful as treating dandruff. May aid in preventing hair loss. Vitamin C increases absorption of iron, needed to prevent weak, pale or spoon-shaped nails.

Maintaining healthy natural nails is not as complicated as many may think. As with hair, nails are usually their healthiest in their natural state, requiring a bit of nail polish for protection and regular applications of hand cream as a moisturizer.
In fact, many argue that using natural nail strengtheners, which chemically cross link the nail plate, is actually a bad idea. Although they do make nails more rigid, they also make them less flexible and thus more prone to breaking on impact. It is actually more important that nails are kept flexible and moisturized.
Hope this was useful. See you later!

request: red and white flowers

Hello, babes! My cousin Flory came to visit me and of course she wanted a nail design, something simple , not too many colors, so this is it. You will need:

First, apply base coat. Taking a red polish and a pen, make 5 dots on the top of the nail.

Then quickly make a white dot on the center.

Now the magic begins:take a thin brush and start dragging from the white dot trough the red dots and then drag from between the red dots towards the center. I'm sorry I can't show you this, I can only explain.

If you want to, you can add some sprkles in the middle of the flower so the center wouldn't look so bare. I chose some orange sparkles. Enjoy!

fruit series: cherry!!!!

Hello, girls! I've decided to do a series and i've chosen fruits for this. Today i've created cherries . They are so cute. Here is what you need:

First, you need to apply a base coat and 1-2 coats of a pink sheer color.

Then, taking a pen and a red color, make two dots on each finger like this:

After that, take a thin brush green nail polish and make the two cherry stems and a leaf.

If you want, you can add little accents on one cherry with white, but this is optional.

The last step is to add some green rhinestones and top coat. Hope you like it and if you want to show me your designs, I will publish them. Kisses:*

fimo flower

hello, girls! i've got something new for you today:fimo flowers!
this is what you will need:

first, as always apply base coat and 1-2 coats of pink(or every color of your choice):

after that, you have to take a thin brush red polish and finely add strokes starting above the base of the nail, so that it creates a fading effect:

now, take a thin brush polish with gold sparkles and do the same think.

it's time for the fimo flowers. take pink and blue flowers and gentle add them to the corners of the nails, making sure to press them so they won't fall.

add silver sparkles on the tip of the nails, round the flower for a better grip. and that's all! hope you like it!

how to do a hygienic manicure

in a previous post i've mentioned that you should do a hygienic manicure at least once a week. today i'm gonna show you how to do it. the first think you have to do is clean your nails if you have any nail polish on them .

you have to use an acetone free enamel remover. i'm using AVON's "nail experts enamel remover acetone free". it's really good.

after that, you have to use a scrub to massage your hands & nails. i'm using AVON's "rough skin remover", to exfoliate and to remove any dead skin.

then, in a bowl of warm water add some oils or some bubble bath and soak your hands for 5-8 min.

dry your hands with a cloth, and clip your nails if necessary.

push your cuticles with a special tool, you can find them at any nail supply store. since you have soaked your nails, this step will be much easier to do.

file and buff your nails, using a nail buffer.

use a cuticle oil, or simply some olive oil to massage your cuticles so they are hydrated and you don't have that ugly dead skin that sometimes is soring.

the last step is applying a base coat. you always have to have base coat on your nails, even if you're not wearing any nail polish, always put base coat. mine is from CORAL, it has calcium and UV filter, it protects the nail from breakage. you can choose whatever works best for you and your nails.

and there you have, healthy looking nails.after you are done don't forget the hand & nail cream with vitamin E, calcium and glycerine.

swirl

hi, girl! today i've tried to do a "swirl" design. apply base coat, one thick coat of pink, than quickly draw black lines like a "+" then two others in between, take a toothpick and from the center start making circles, so that you drag the nailpolish and make a swirl effect. add top coat and that's all! bizou:*

DO's & DON'Ts

DON'T:- use nail polishes that have harsh chemicals in it, it will weaken the nails and make them brake faster
- bite your nails, it's so ugly and unhygienic
- use your fingernails as tools for opening stuff, or pushing stuff
- cut your cuticles, it will cause bleeding and infection
- push your cuticles to much
- allow your manicurista to touck your nails with tools that haven't been disinfected previously
- soak your nails to much, they will brake

DO - ware nail treatments everyday, with vitamin E and calcium to strengthen your nails
- use a hand & nail cream
- ware gloves when you wash dishes
- put a base coat before the actual nail polish, it will avoid discoloration of the nail
- use cuticle oil(like olive oil). you will soften your cuticles and you can push them easier

nail care:nail filers

it's time for nail care. i really don't know how to start, there are so many things to say. but first is first : nail filers

the first thing you should do is file your nails every time you do a manicure. you could use a buffer(1), a hard nail filer(2) if you have hard nails, or a glass filer(3). you should never use a metal filer(4), if you have one, throw it away! it makes your nails exfoliate and crack. it's really bad. when you file your nails, file in only one direction, to prevent the thining of the nails . i personally file only the tip of my nails, not the sides, because i have square nails. when you use a nail buffer, you should always use all 4 sides: 1.file nail edge, 2. remove ridges , 3. smooth nail, 4. shine nail. this way you will keep your nails shiny and healthy. i thing that's all about nail filers , if you have any questions, feel free to ask . bizou:*
